Veterans and Nexus @ The Path of the Horse
We had a wonderful weekend just gone at The Path of the Horse. The weather was just magnificent and there's something magic about Autumn in the Central Highlands.
Nexus organised another veterans weekend and we had a wonderful group of ex ADF and emergency service workers and some of their kids join us. The focus of the weekend was on post traumatic growth and managing PTS.
The herd was awesome and the team at Path of the Horse came through and my thanks to Jane, Karyn, Anne and Karen Petrich for their assistance.
Todd McDougall from Nexus had his leadership and preparation down pat and ensured all was organised and ran wonderfully as always. Todd and Dave from Nexus were wonderful all weekend and set the tone for some good work. Thanks so much to Nexus for making it happen.
Sunday lunch was provided by the Military Brotherhood Motorcycle Club who have started to help us out and support the veterans at The Path of the Horse. They showed wonderful support and genuine care for all the veterans that we had with us. The President Greg Green and his fellow members have been terrific in their support and this is the second time they have put on lunch for veterans and helped with other jobs too.
In addition, they also donated some food so that veterans who come to stay with us will always have something there to eat. Very thoughtful and much appreciated.
We were stunned to receive a cheque to The Path of the Horse for $2600!!!!! Bloody marvellous and its donations like this that enable us to ensure no veteran or emergency service worker ever has to pay when they visit us.
