We are running an event on Wednesday (Fortnightly).
The concept of the gathering is informal and Nexus through Oakleigh and various RSLs will provide a free bbq with drinks (soft only I’m afraid, but if you want to buy some drinks the bar will be available). By attending the bbqs you will become eligible to attend some cool events such as the Australian Open, Six Day Melbourne velodrome bike race, Australian Cricket One Day International vs India,Melbourne Victory vs Melbourne City with more interesting events to follow in up-coming bbqs.
Last year we had some great gatherings with first responders and others, so bring along a buddy, partner and/or family and enjoy this gathering in a very friendly setting.
Melissa quickly became a ‘Hive’ of activity, as it was and still is one of the few cafes to offer Melbournians an authentic taste of Greece. You could be enjoying a syrupy, nutty ‘baclava’ or a creamy, custardy ‘galaktobouriko’
5 Eaton Mall Oakleigh Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 3166

Set sail at twilight and cruise down river from the arts precinct, past Melbourne’s Ports and Docklands while you take in the shipping channels and marvel at luxury homes! Then, head upstream for a scenic route along the Botanical Gardens, Melbourne Park and Herring Island, with lush greenery and beautiful natural landscapes along the banks. Sip on beverages available for purchase on the Bar during your two-hour journey while you’re entertained with some calm background music.
Nexus is donating limited free tickets for all of the Oakleigh lounge events, to be eligible, Veterans need to attend our fortnightly BBQS or contact via email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name mobile number and your service number and PmKeys
The Oakleigh Lounge is in the Memorial Hall at the Oakleigh Carnegie RSL. This was formerly The Caravan Music Club and The Pearl Oakleigh. The Manager is Blair Burt who has many years of experience in the music business and is bringing many different music shows which will appeal to the RSL members and the wider community including Sunday afternoon blues/jazz sessions in the beer garden (or in the Members Lounge is cold/raining). We are also planning events taking into mind the family-friendly image of the RSL.
